Playing DVDs on pclinuxos 2007

Hi, I'm a complete linux newbie and have pclinuxos 2007 on my desktop. The only problem I'm having is playing dvds due to the regional coding. What should I be installing to enable vlc and/or mplayer to play dvds?

Well first-off, I'd be recommending totem-xine, however mplayer is a good second choice.

You typically need the libdvdcss package in order to play encryptec DVD's , which I'm guessing is the problem you are having. How you install this on your flavour of Linux will be specifiv to "pclinuxos", but you can have a look at this for some more info;
