About installing?
I am a Medion fan about to purcase the new akoya, ialready usethere lap topwith wireless net work and would like to try using ubuntu.
I do visit, what to me is a complex site of Barclays stockbroker called Barx, and would like to here from someone who may be has experience, one other item that i would like the pro.and cons for, the adviseability of using a usb disk to accomodate the programe. I am at the moment learning to use Transcend JF V30 unit that with its associated software is quite impressive.
Can any one help a novice??

Hi,
Well the "Medion Akoya" is reportedly the same netbook as the "MSI Wind", allegedly Ubuntu will install on it although it *may* not be totally straigt-forward depending on which reports you listen to.
However (!) if you read the reviews I think the ASUS Eee PC is pretty much the same spec and beats it hands-down on most or all aspects .. and it comes with Linux pre-installed .. so you might want to consider an alternative.
The fact that Sainsburys are stocking the Akoya is in itself a little worrying (!) , anything you can buy in a supermarket is generally cheaper, but then there's usually a reason ...
