how do you package RPMs for PCLOS?
Hi there (I'm new here, nice to know there is a Linux site for us
British), I have PCLOS 2007 beta 2 in dual boot with winXP pro, and I
have come across a nice looking CAD program for Linux. trouble is, it
isn't in the software repository, so unless I package it, I'm stuck.
but the thing is - I don't know how to package it (or even install it)
so that I can use it. As far as I can tell, I believe that it is a
Slackware tar ball, if that helps. Here is a link to the website:
gcad

yeh, the site is down...
here is an alternative link

and the tar itself

[edit] seems like ubuntuforums.org is down too :0
Hi, Welcome to Linux UK.
You probably don't need to package it, that is for doing if you want to upload a program into the repo.
What I would recommend is building the software from source, as per the instructions.
For the moment, however, the site seems to be down. If you post
here once it's back up, I'll talk you through building from source..
Regards,
Johnathon
EDIT: You might find this link useful as well, discussing CAD
software on Ubuntu: you will probably be able to find .rpm's or source
packages for the programs talked about there:

cancel that - i now have this app working... its actually pretty rubbish, but i guess its the best free one for linux :/
