Linux Segment Fault with root user

Posted by Eamonn Higgins at June 29. 2008

Hi
i am installing CA Unicenter to Linux 2.4 build and it will not allow me to install because its thinks the root user is invalid.
we believe the fault lies with Linux because of a segment fault:
[root@mexico root]# id -Gn root
Segmentation fault

Can you please advise?
